Welcome to my new home on the internet! I have just finished wallpapering and am still moving some furniture around, but please pull up a chair and I’ll pour you a drink. My old place on Blogger served me well for the past three years, but lately I’ve been itching to start fresh. My voice and style of writing have evolved quite a bit since I started writing on the internet, and I think that these new digs will suit me much better.
Another thing about the old place was that my family never knew I was squatting there, and I only gave a few of my closest friends the key. I didn’t expect to stay very long and I liked the idea of blaring music with explicit lyrics while walking around in my underwear, but when it came right down to it, I only did that a couple of times. And then I realized that I didn’t really want to walk around half naked or smoke cigarettes, and I thought it would be nice to have my parents over for lunch every once in awhile (although I still worry a little that they won’t like what I’m serving.)
So here I am – still RimaRama, just a little more true to myself and no longer trying to make the cheerleading squad or win friends with slapstick comedy. I plan to write here at least once a week, but if I skip a week or maybe even two, I’ll be back eventually. (Which is why, if you haven’t already done so, you may want to click on one of the enormous colorful buttons on the top right of your screen to sign up to receive notification in a feed reader, via email, on Twitter or Facebook whenever there is a new post up here.) Do you think I made the buttons big enough?
